About Us
Yohanna Ward - B.App.Sci.(H.Bio.), M.Ost
I love the variety my work as an osteopath brings. There is always a different issue to be solved, a different person to connect with and a different story to be heard. No two cases are the same. I have enjoyed working in Marlborough since 2011, providing osteopathic care for all ages from new-borns through to the elderly. I strive to help clients function and feel better so they can live life to the fullest. While I aim to achieve this through osteopathic treatment, I am also happy to refer clients for further investigations or other treatment modalities if required.
What Drew Me To Osteopathy?
Osteopathic health care has been a part of my life since I was a child. My mother discovered the benefits of osteopathy after taking my older brother who had very irregular sleep patterns to an osteopath. After one treatment his sleep improved hugely.
Work experience days at high school then showed me how varied and interesting osteopathic work was. This caused me to change tack from wanting to pursue a career in law to studying osteopathy instead, a decision I have never regretted. I studied a Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Human Biology) at Unitec in Auckland followed by a Masters in Osteopathy graduating in 2010.
I enjoyed being involved as Treasurer on the Osteopaths New Zealand committee for five years, helping to promote and support the profession in NZ.
Outside of Osteopathy
When I’m not working, I love being outdoors. Sailing, biking, running, hiking or just pottering in the garden are all favourite pastimes. Food is another love. I spend far too much time creating in the kitchen! Music has also been a big part of my life and I’ve enjoyed being involved with the Marlborough Civic Orchestra and Blenheim Musical Theatre over the years.
Stacey Hines - BMSkH, PGDip.Ost.
I work with a variety of patients, employing a range of techniques and exercises suited to the individual’s needs. I particularly enjoy helping patients to be proactive in their health and wellbeing to aid their recoveries.
What drew me to Osteopathy?
I have always been an active person and due to my own injuries from horse riding I was drawn to osteopathy for it’s involvement with sports rehabilitation. After my nephew, as a toddler, was treated for dysfunction in his hips and begin to walk the same day, I was convinced this was what I wanted to do. Through my studies, I gained a further appreciation for the wide range of issues osteopathy can influence such as injuries, headaches, pregnancy, chronic pain conditions and more. I enjoy treating babies, children, adults and the elderly.
Outside of Osteopathy
Outside of the clinic my time is spent being active at the gym, sailing in the Sounds, exploring the hills, riding horses, baking for my family and trying new creative activities.
